Key Assets (previously Key Visual) provides the core visual representation of your main characters, environments, and objects, based on your script. Think of it as your visual brief. It sets the art style, color tone, environment, and character look that ByThen carries through the entire video.
Getting your Key Assets right before you move forward saves time. It's the foundation everything else is built on.
If your script doesn't have a Key Assets, you won't see this step at all. You'll confirm that in a quick modal and go straight to your storyboard.
Confirming your Key Assets
If your script has at least one Key Asset, you'll land on an intermediary confirmation page before landing on the Key Asset page. Here you can:
Review the main assets ByThen parsed from your script, in text form
Add or remove main assets back to the script if the list doesn't look right
Go back to your script to edit it directly
Once you confirm this page, you'll move into the Key Asset page. From that point on, Key Assets can't be added or removed, only their appearance can be adjusted. If you need to change who or what your Key Assets are later, you'll need to go back and edit your script.
What to confirm on the Key Assets page
Before moving to the storyboard, review the following for each main asset:
Environment, does the setting match your content?
Art style, does the visual style fit your brand?
Color tone, are the colors consistent with what you want?
Character style, does the character look and feel right?
Main Assets vs. Supporting Assets: Key Assets only covers your main assets. If your main character interacts with a waitress in one scene, your main character is the main asset. The waitress is a supporting asset and won't appear here.
If you like it
Confirm and move on to the Storyboard step.
If you want to change it
You have a few options:
Edit an appearance directly on the Key Assets page
Go back and edit your script to change your Key Assets
