What is the Difference Between Main Credit and Free Credit

Understand the difference between Free Credit and Main Credit and how each one gets used.

ByThen has two credit types. They work differently, and knowing which is which will save you confusion later.

Free Credit

  • Included with every subscription plan

  • Used for early-stage creation: VISA setup, script generation, and Key Visual generation

  • Shown as a percentage gauge (0–100%)

  • Resets every billing cycle, unused Free Credit does not roll over

  • Cannot be topped up, transferred, or converted to Main Credit

When your Free Credit runs out, eligible actions fall back to Main Credit automatically.

Main Credit (MC)

  • Included with every subscription plan, amount depends on your tier

  • Used for production from Storyboard onwards: storyboarding, editor actions, TTS, music, SFX, image and video generation

  • Also used as a fallback when Free Credit is depleted

  • Shown as a number (e.g. 'MC 11,000')

  • Can be topped up at any time

  • Maximum balance: 999,999 MC

If both Free Credit and Main Credit hit zero, generation is blocked until you top up.

Which credit gets used for what?

  • VISA / Content Profile creation: Free Credit first, then Main Credit

  • Script generation: Free Credit first, then Main Credit

  • Key Visual generation: Free Credit first, then Main Credit

  • Storyboard generation: Main Credit

  • Editor tool actions: Main Credit
