Introduction
Every time you create content on ByThen, the platform runs AI models in the background, reasoning through your brief, generating visuals, producing audio, and more. Each of these actions draws from your credit balance.
ByThen automatically selects the most suitable AI model for each generation. Because of this, credit consumption may vary depending on the complexity of your content. Downloading or exporting your video does not consume credits.
Note: 1 credits = $0.001. Credits are consumed per generation, not on download or export.
Content Wizard
When you create content using the wizard, credits are consumed at each step of the pipeline. Below are the estimated costs at the default 30-second video duration.

Note: All estimates are based on a 30-second video. Changing the video duration in settings will automatically recalculate credit usage.
If you're out of Free Credits then ByThen will start consume the Main Credits.
Storyboard to Video Generation
When your storyboard is ready, each clip can be generated as a video or a static image. By default, all clips are rendered as video.
To generate a clip as a static image instead, untick it before generating. See How to add motion to your video here.
Important:
Things that affect video generation cost:
· Duration: the longer the video, the more credits consumed. The estimate of ~5,000 credits is based on a 30-second video.
· Model: ByThen selects the most optimal model based on the quality requirements of your content. Different models have different minimum clip durations, which affects the minimum credit cost per clip.
Editor Tool
When generating assets on Editor Tool, it will always consume Main Credits first.
